Since launching the famous Breaking 2 project, Nike has continuously provided runners with the latest running shoes. Whether it is the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite or the later Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% or the later Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT%, they all provide athletes with more and more outstanding performance and have led to a new trend in running shoe design.
Today, Nike officially released the sequel to the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT%, the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 2. This shoe was first worn by Kipchoge at the Tokyo Marathon, and the latter also won the championship in the competition.
Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 2 adopts the design language of its predecessor and upgrades the details of the latter. The overall design includes three points:
· Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 2 is designed to break the performance limits of marathons and long-distance road running.
· The system includes a full-length ZoomX foam midsole, a curved carbon plate, an Atomknit 2.0 upper, a lighter and thinner rubber outsole and a wider heel.
· Alphafly NEXT% 2 continues to focus on designing for runners, and makes unremitting efforts on the successful experience of the first generation Alphafly to open a new chapter.
The overall upgrades are as follows:
· Additional foam is added under the forefoot Zoom Air cushion unit to provide more energy feedback, ensuring that runners can achieve a smooth transition from heel to forefoot when running.
· The heel of the shoe last is widened to improve the stability of the shoe when the runner’s stride frequency changes.
· The Atomknit 2.0 on the upper is designed with engineering partitions to ensure the closure of the forefoot and breathability above the toes, while more comfortable padding is added under the shoelaces.
And the first color scheme is called Proto, which is designed to pay tribute to the joint testing and development with athletes. The shoe test code is marked on the inside of the color scheme, and the double Zoom Air cushion unit in the forefoot is highlighted with color.
